Good idea about the fuel filter rusnak: I added it to the list.

Scott C,

Do you have a P/N for that hose? Is it in this picture?

Yeah, all of that braided hose material is probably old. I changed all of mine and the two crankcase breather hoses. The top one has a restrictor cone that needs to be removed and placed into the new hose.

I'm referring to Number 24A. Mine was cracked and falling apart. I'm sure it was the source of my leak

That little mounting tab can get twisted, putting strain on the rubber tube. Just make sure it goes in square. If needed, add some washers to the rubber block to raise the tab to make everything square up. That thing is expensive.

rusnak,

What year car & engine do you have?

The crank case breather hose for my 1985 car is 930 107 397 01 and cost $283 from Pelican. Considering the price and that my current hose material looks pretty good, I was going to skip it.

Scott C,

What year car & engine do you have?

The reason that I ask is you said "I'm referring to Number 24A." but 24A is a "pipeline" (see the picture that I added above that includes the part numbers) and Pelican says that this PN (930-110-328-03) is a fuel line.

Bagger, I have an '84 3.2.

Just run your hand around the hoses (there are 3) feeling for cracks. If you find one, a temporary repair can be made (remove hose from car) with some JB Weld and wrap while it is still setting with some strong tape like Gorilla tape. That'll hold indefinitely until the next time you're in there. Only admit to doing this around friends.

The pipe and rubber boot come as one assembly. I had a deteriorated #24, and replaced the part a few years ago. ~$100 as I recall.

rusnak,

Thanks for the repair idea. All the hoses (vacuum, fuel, and oil) look and feel fine.

Ed,

Do you know what the function of #24 is? It does not seem like it should have fuel in it even though Pelican calls it a fuel line. Is it a vacuum line attached to a fuel system regulator or damper?

IIRC, I paid abuot $100 for mine. It is a weird part that connects to the main vacuum hose assembly and into the boot. I'm not sure of the function.

Does it have fuel in it or air?
