Question Oil Sender replacement

If I'm removing the oil level sender, do i need to drain the oil from the tank, or will the action of jacking up one side serve the purpose of ensuring that no oil leaks out when removing the old unit ?? Also, any calibration required.

I recently changed mine in the SC and didnt drain anything, no leaks.
