Restore or remember fondly

If it's a Ford then a GT40 or nothing! Mustangs and Chargers? - one on every corner.
As for he 911 being neglected true but then most cars are it's just a matter of degrees. Some are in need of a bath, others a tune up while others . . .
Regardless she'll get there. Have faith.

It looks like the entire top needs refurbishment. Headliner, outer skin, those padded piece that fit on either side of the front, bushing for the handles. The painting of the frame I can do.

Sitting for 2 years? You need to look for a 70° day, take the bothersome top off, find a back country road and see if it still speaks to you!
This all boils down to desires and expectations. If you want it relatively nice expect to dump what sounds like to me $6-8k into it over the next several months. This might also rekindle your enjoyment of the car. As far as I can tell lately spending that $6-8k on it will get you a car you might get $10-12k for, if you turned around and sold it....
Conversely, I'd bet there's a market for it to someone wanting a running "fixer" if you priced it at $6-7k. Turn around and plan to spend $15k and you can get your pick of a bunch of pretty nice cars with most of their issues addressed.
IMHO In your situation, It's not worth restoring (fixing, upgrading, whatever) this car if you don't plan to keep it.

Spending $ on these only makes sense if it's considered hobby $

I got a full kit with good instructions. His pitch was that it was German materials, of OEM quality. If you ping me this weekend, I'll dig out my receipt file and see if I can find the company name.

Didn't want to talk about her behind her back so here's a few pictures. The day is overcast. Two cameras were not working with the computer so these were taken with my phone thus the grainy quality. These cell pics are not flattering I'll try to get clearer ones.

Damn man, she looks to be in fairly nice shape. I'd give the front a quick re-sprayed (save some $ by doing the prep yourself) and fix the little things as you get to them.
Your a/c doesn't work because your compressor has no belt :P (I know...everyone likes a little.....)
