Had an idea. Putting some thin adhesive magnets at the bottom of the oil pan and on the outside edges of the oil filter to collect metal under 20mcrns which would pass through the oil filter..Think it's a good idea??

I don't think your idea will work well.
First of all, the adhesive on the magnet that's stuck inside of your engine oil drain plate would get up to oil temp. and likely "unstick" itself...where it would take up part of your steel mesh screen that's attached to your oil pump intake.
As for attaching "thin" magnets to your oil filter, I don't think the material would be strong enough to attract magnetic particles through the oil filter casing.![Confused](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
There is a nifty part designed for this offered by Pelican Parts...it consists of a belt, of sort, with several high-powered magnets that are stationed around the oil filter...it is relatively inexpensive and seems to be a quality item.
