Post Sat a while, now won't start!

I finally finished refurbishing the interior of my 911, and I attempted to start it after ~3 months of sitting, and nothing. The battery was dead from a door being left open or something, but when I jumped it the engine cranked, but no fire. I can smell fuel, so I assume the problem is electrical.
Does anyone have ideas or have experienced this before??

I had similar symptoms with my 82 and was certain it wasn't the battery because the engine turned over as you described. I got my wallet ready and visited my mechanic, he checked the battery and changed it and I haven't had a problem since. It seems that the battery wasn't quite good enough to get the engine to fire! Just my personal experience though.

Battery - there are small drains on the battery that can reduce the power after about 4 weeks. If you let the car sit that long, best to disconnect the battery.

Just charge it overnight and you should be fine.

Thanks guys. Off to Autozone...I hear they make a decent replacement for the car for reasonable $$.
