Car is located in San Diego. I'm new to rl, but been a member of pelican for some time now. Actually the 993 section of the board is what got me over here...it is great to see an active 911 crowd too
My 993 is getting some RS splitters, turbo s fogs, and some fresh paint to cover the rock chips, but ill be posting pics of that shortly.

Well shoot, I'm in NE Escondido, just below Lake Wolford. I've got the red beauty in my Avatar, and a "new" 993 in the garage too. We'll have to introduce our cars sometime soon!
On a related note, are you happy with Malibu Body & Paint? I've got to get some license plate evidence on my front bumper erased, and may get a fresh bumper/front spray, and then some 3M or Xpel, or similar. I've got a few recommendations, but have no ties to anyone here.

If t were stock, I'd have to agree with you, but with the clean front end, the height, and the leftover space to the fender lips, to my eye, it seems to be a bit out of balance to me. I want to clarify, I think it is beautiful, and reds of that shade are tops in my book!
Definitely hope to see this 911 in person in the near future.

Beautiful car. Love what you've done so far.
And it's a 1966!
This crossed my mind as well. I think it would great fully blacked out.

To be honest, at this point I'm not entirely sure where to go with the chrome. Die hard SWB fans keep telling me to return the car to chrome trim throughout. That will get it back to the way a true SWB should be. Others tell me they love the black trim and leave it as is. At this point, I'm not sure which way to go with it, and would really love some opinions.

Going back to the concept of building this hotrod in 1970... It's like you had the idea that blacked out trim would be cool way before the factory did. Porsche took notice, and a few years later, what do you know, black trim on factory 911's. This 911 is nostalgic and futuristic at the same time.
