Post Mysterious hose on CIS Airbox 77 3.0 Carrera

Hi, while cleaning some of the grime from around the back of the engine, an area I could not reach previously; I noticed coming out from the bottom of the airbox a rubber hose about 10" long. The hose was not visible before I took the motor out. It also is not connected to anything on the other end. It is just hanging there. Anyone know what it should go to? Could this be why car car has started so poorly since I have owned it?
Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.

Well now I am a bit scared. I did not see any hoses in the diagram I found. Something strange going on here.

oh-oh! no actually, it's a drain hose for the airbox, so when oil gets in there thru the breather hose from the oil filler tube, it will drain out onto the heater box and stink up the car. porsche design. it should attach to a plastic drip tube screwed to the back of the oil cooler, out by the starter. there's actually a metal diverter tube that can be fitted under the plastic one so that the oil misses the heat exchanger.
