Default Best source for engine bracket

I *finally* got the engine and trans pulled Friday. Taking my time and double checking things it was very straight-forward.

The last bolt to remove before floating it to the ground was the right side engine mount bolt.

I know these aren't torqued too heavily so I was surprised at the effort needed with a 1/2" breaker bar. After some heavy torquing, it broke loose..... literally.

The engine mount broke about 1/4" from the weld holding the threaded pipe as noted in the drawing. The "pipe" piece remained on the bolt and the engine mount now has a ripped edge.

I haven't priced the OEM bracket but do like the Rennline unit.

Question 1: Any thoughts on the best engine bracket available?

Question 2: Is it acceptable to apply anti-seize to the engine/trans mounting bolts?

Thanks in advance.

I'd anti-seize it. This seems to be a common issue. You can post a WTB on Pelican, or look at an aftermarket like Rennline, who makes a good one, I believe.

I found that I can get the factory unit from the dealer for less than half of the Rennline cost. I can get the factory bracket and transmission mounts (inserts) for less than the Rennline engine bracket.

Looks like common sense needs to win on this one so I'm ordering the factory bracket.

I agree, for that money, I'd order original. It amazes me that some of these parts are still available and in this case, cheap.

@ Ed: I can get the OEM for a few bucks shy of a C-note so it is a no-brainer.

@ ice: Thanks for the feedback. I'll work it into the plan.
