When I'm in the lower gears at cruising speed, I get a growling/grinding noise. I can especially hear it when I let off the throttle while in gear.
Once I hit highway speeds, it goes away, although by that time I'm at 3-4K rpms so I'm hearing the engine above everything else.
No vibration through the stick yet.
Sounds like a bearing issue, right?...I guess I'm looking for clarification on what exactly it entails and how extensive the repairs may be.
According to my service records, the synchros were replaced about 25,000 miles ago and my 915 shifts very nicely. I'm currently at 75,000 miles.
Happy holidays to everyone!
