Default Fuel line option

I've been watching some recent threads on fuel lines and wanted to solicit some thoughts on running the braided Aeroquip style stuff.

http://hydraulics.eaton.com/products...ittings_LR.pdf

I know it screams small block chebby, but a friend runs a shop and has all the hose and connectors to do the job (provided I can get metric).

Anybody ever use the Aeroquip stuff on a 911? Was the outcome positive/negative/neutral?

Tx,
Scott

I *think* I understand the message, Doug.

Another option would be to hard-plumb the lines with stainless tubing....

Of particular interest are the parts numbered "9" and "19".

I have my fuel lines back from Zims if you want me to post them. Very nice, with original hardware for half the price of oem. Don't forget to replace #11.

I know of some cars going the AeroQ route with no issues. High pressure line is high pressure line, albeit the looks may be a bit shocking. Personal choice.

I did the Zim's remans 3 years ago as rusnak did with no issues. Seems like a no-brainer and you keep it stock looking.

I keep forgetting about Zims..... And they are nearby

If I go the AQC route, I would go with black hose and polished hardware.... No braided hoses with red hardware for me.

Rusnak, can you post the finished product? I'd like to see them.

Tx,
Scott

I forgot to film #19, but it was included in my order from Zims.

My dealer made me a good deal on new lines so I bit the bullet and went with new OEM.
This includes the small line (#11) that has a tight bend formed in it.

If anybody wants the old ones for rebuild cores, please let me know and we can work out shipping.

Did you find your clutch arm?

Yes, in back of the tranny is a temporary work table with new:

flywheel bolts (9), fuel pressure regulator, throwout fork (arm), to fork rollpin, flywheel, pressure plate and clutch plate, 12 gaskets, intake plenum donut, throttle body O-ring, cht sensor, etc etc. Tons of stuff including a new sound pad and clutch cable.

I gots lots of work ahead of me. All I need is a good weekend and good weather to finish it up.

Yep, I'm in the final throes of preparing for the 'drop'. The clutch died in Aug and I'm just now getting around to pulling the drivetrain.

I just need to unbolt the half-shafts, remove the slave cylinder and move the A/C compressor.
The hard oil line was a breeze after I soaked it with penetrant.

I've been gathering parts for a while..... This simple clutch replacement has morphed into (WYIT):

- Brake line replacement
- Caliper rebuilds
- Intake gaskets
- Valve adjustment (re-check from a few hundred miles ago)
- New steering wheel (993 RS style)
- Vacuum hose replacement
- Fuel line replacement
- Engine oil cooler refurb
- Deep scrubbing of the engine bay and wheel wells
- Deep scrubbing of the engine

I'm sure there is more but I don't want to think of the parts bills right now.

I would replace the flywheel bolts and pressure plate bolts. There are a bunch of small parts like seals and such that inevitably you'll add once you get to the teardown.

Nice list! I'd go so far as to pull flywheel and check the "front" main seal. Easy replacement, and could have a weep. Good call on the oil cooler clean/test, and you'll get to replace the 3 seals there.

Yep.. They are on the list... I forgot them as I was working from memory

FW seal is on the list, too. I just ordered the IMS seal today as I ordered the fuel lines.

I plan on keeping this car a while so I want to make sure the low hanging fruit is done with the engine out now.
