Default WEVO G50 Shifter

Have a 1989 911 Carrera. Thinking about installing the WEVO G50 Shifter...has anyone done this....how hard....and is it worth it.

It's really easy to install. I used mine for one race weekend at Road Atlanta and then sold it. For whatever reason, I kept missing the 2nd to 3rd gear upshift (which had never happened before with my stock shifter). Casual driving was fine.

It's a REALLY cool-looking shifter and the throw is definitely shorter and more "mechanical." But for me, for "heat-of-the-battle" shifting, it didn't work out. I'm sure I just needed more practice with it...

I think WEVO makes superb products. This particular one just didn't work out for me.

FWIW,....

We put them in all of our 911-based race cars as its the single most important measure to prevent the "money shift".

I wouldn't use anything else, BUT the linkage must be in perfect condition to realize all the benefits of the Wevo shifter.

Yes definitely for 915 cars. Is this also true for G50s??

Steve, what other shift parts would you replace with the G50 shifter
