^ its rather odd and frankly not sure if its due to the galv process used in 1978 or crappy prep work on prior repaint over 10 years ago. Good thing is that the body is solid and after proper strip, prep, and epoxy primer things should be alot better. More to come as the ghastly process continues.

Went to visit the car yesterday and things are moving along. Thus far mostly small parts taken off and prepped, jumping int the deep end next weekend. Had a chat today with a mate and still trying to be true to my non-pebble beach resto project. Should have ghastly body-shop images next week.

BTW what header/muffler combo do people fit to a stock 78sc (not stroked). I would like more sound but not sure which directiion to go. Car to be blvd cruz-r not a track b@tch as that job is already taken.

Its really strange seing an older 911 next to a new variant to see how much they have grown. I plan on lining a few decades up when the 78 gets back from the bodyshop to illustrate. Car almost all the way down.

This is going to look fantastic, can't wait to see how it progresses!

Any plans for the suspension?

^the total strip blew my non existant budget (I was originally thinking just a wet-sand). My plan is to drive it for a couple months to shake it down and then have round two for mechanicals. Since it will not be a track car, sleeper, or outlaw I suspect I will just refresh the bushings, etc. I did order a new dansk mufler as the original was toast. Body wise I elected to weld/fill the front valance holes for license plate and also the radio antenna hole near the fuel flap as a sat radio is going in. The remainder of the car will be bone stock in appearance other than its lowered stance.

Just returned from my weekly visit. to assist with budget it is being worked on between other cars but Jose is a solid guy and does really nice work. Car has been blocked twice after various primers and now is in its final stage. The graphite like material is put on body panels to reveal high/low areas for final adjustments. Paint should be after the new year holiday then re-assembly and cleaning.

That's how I usually get in trouble with my bufgeting. I start chaising perfection and end up redoing the whole thing. This car is going to be beautiful when it's all said and done, so you wont have any regrets.

Sergei:

No regrets at all, its a keeper so the $$ while not a non-issue is perhaps not as big as an issue for some that plan on selling. This old gal will just keep getting passed down the family tree.
