Good luck with the refresh - it should be a fun project.
I have a full CIS system taken off a '79 3.0 L when I switched to carb's, if you're interested in replacement parts.

^sorry not clear on the Q, but the car was not running, it turned but would not fire which is acutally a good thing since the left-bank chain tensioner was making some noise. Plastic bits should be installed to day then a good dose of mosquito fogging when the engine comes to life.

Its alive, after road test my mechanic presented dental bill due to the square tires shaking his fillings free. Keeping the OEM bits but the following are coming off: AC and cruise-control. Ordering round tires today and shift linkage coupler. Also rebuilding fuse boxes and installing all new fuses and tidying up some wiring. Then more testing, so far so good.

Just took it out for a shake-down after essential mechanicals corrected. Its amazing what new fluids, adjustments, and replacment of simple broken parts (shift coupler) can do. Also off is the turbo wing and all the heat/AC items. Will spend the rest of the week running and checking, also need to rundown possible short in oil pressure guage but all in all its a great day. Tire Rack should be delivering the badly needed round tyres which should improve the ride quality as the current ones have massive flat spots from sitting. On schedule to be a body/paint towards the end of next week.

So if I followed this right.....that gorgeous looking 911 (that appears to the untrained camera's eye to merely need a detail) is being painted?....and then handed to a new driver?.....
I'm 36 but have you considered adopting more children?![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
(mostly posting to follow what you do to that already pretty car)

^The picture is really better than the reality as it has a fair amount of orange-peel (sp?), just not to my standard. And yes I will be letting my daughter drive it in a very short period of time, she has earned every bit of that trust. Looking back on my teens I still shake my head with the cars my parents and their friends entrusted me with, not one American and all either German or spicy Italians. By contrast what I am offering is rather tame......that is until she turns 18 and PCA will let her RACE.....

SC paint akin to a “wedding cake”, looks OK from the outside but not much substance. Time to strip……..and repaint. Images of dismantlement and work to be posted once work begins.

As expected the paint really did fail, rather like a hard-boiled egg. It is easier to use a razor blade to chip it off than sand. More prep before paint for sure.......
