I backup my V1 100%...

I have escaped laser every time (and that's almost all they use stationary here in TX). Most of the time I can get a reflection from another car, or they'll try to hit me too far out. My ears are tuned to that laser alert, and I'm on those brakes like an F1 driver. lol

Aside from that, I have been looking around at the current market of laser jammers, and do intend to add one before the year is out...just for an added edge and another second of brake time before they decide to come get me.

For radar, nothing comes close to the V1 (imho)...I smell em miles away sometimes. And even their instant on/POP traps appear way down the road if there is any traffic.

I have a V1 and an Escort 9500ix. Both are excellent. The V1 seems a tad more sensitive but again they are very close. The GPS features of the 9500ix are really nice if you have a lot of false signals in your area. I also like how it shows your speed. I use my 9500ix around town usually, and V1 when I am on the highway for trips. Currently my wife has "borrowed" my 9500ix for her Cayenne S so I bet I will be using the V1 from now on.

FWIW, I have an Escort 8500 X50. It's saved my butt many times. And, at least according to the manual, it has a "rear laser port" to detect signals from behind the vehicle. Maybe not as "slick" as the V1, but it's worked well for me over the years.

YMMV.

I have the Beltronics RX 6500 and like it a lot. It has saved me many times and give a good amount of warning time.

My Dad has the Passport 9500 w/GPS and it also works very well. Its kind of cool that is shows your speed and saves false alarms but be carful with the saved false alarm feature (that false could be a cop in the same spot one day).

I would say both are very good in my experiance and you could not go wrong with either unit.

I have a V1 and have also own Escort and Passport. I like the V1 because of the directional arrows, but I find the unit to be sensitive. I also like the ideal of being able to trade in your V1 when any new technology is implemented.

I've already traded one unit in after several years of ownership and Valentine gave me a fair trade in price for a new updated unit.
