Unfortunately I'm in Colorado. I'll call some of the shops in Denver tomorrow and see if they have some. It sure would be nice to get it by the quart or gallon. I e-mailed ConocoPhillips and maybe they can shed some light as to where to find it.

OK good deal Pete. Thanks for the info. I bought a case of the additive when I bought the case of the Kendall dino for my 915. Fortunately, the Dallas-area distributor is only about 5 miles from my house! Have to go back for the synthetic oil for my G50 now.

Thanks again and Happy Holidays my friend!

Hey Toby,

I took Pete's advise and put Kendall NS-MP in my 79 SC two weeks ago. After a 30 minute drive, I felt a noticeable difference while shifting. After a weekend drive to Houston I felt unbelievable results. Hot or cold, my 32 year old car now shifts better than ever. Its effortless!!!

BTW, have you checked your motor mounts? Another valuable lesson I learned from Pete this month

Thanks Andy. Motor mounts are good, I just need to reset the bar with the oil

Hey Pete - what's the ratio for the little bottles of additive?

Hi, Toby. I use 1oz/pint, so the typical gearbox will take about 1.5 bottles (6oz) of additive. Put it in first, so you're sure to have enough room for it! Did you verify LSD yet? Unusual option, at least in Los Angeles!

Has anybody here sent in any samples of tranny fluid for assessment at the labs?

Just curious....

Thanks Pete. I just received the CoA from Porsche last Friday. It has some interesting entries on it:

Exterior Paint Color/Code -
Baltic Blue Metallic/C7

Interior Material Color/Type
Cashmere Beige/Marine Blue Partial Leather/LD

Optional Equipment -
German Equipment
Heated Seats - L/R
Limited Slip Differential
Luggage Compartment Covered with Black Velour
Bridgestone Tires

Anyone know what the "German Equipment" means? As far as I can tell, it's a US car.

There is one other "interesting" option installed on the car - Option Code M454. Pretty cool if I can get it to work. Anyone want to hazard a guess on this option?

Still need to get the car up on a lift to confirm if I, indeed, have an LSD installed.

Toby

Here's what I got from the distributor for Colorado:

Thank you for your interest in Kendall lubricants. Unfortunately, Kendall Super 3 Star 75W90 is only available in 16 gallon kegs and 55 gallon drums. However, we do offer Super 3 Star "80W140" in quarts. For more information on price and availability of Kendall lubricants, please contact Colorado Petroleum at (303) 294-0302.

We have a winner! First time I've seen this option in an older 911. Pretty interesting, but OMG are the parts ever expensive......

I've got cruise in my '84. The only issue with it is that the cable broke last year-NLA. I need to try and get one custom made. Set it at 100, and leave it on those long trips!
