I don't know if any of you remember me, but I used to own a few Porsches and participated in this forum back when it was Porschephiles/PorscheFans. It's been about five years since I sold my last one.
But the Porsche bug has hit me again. I've never owned my dream Porsche, a silver chrome bumpered 911 coupe. The few I've seen are THE classiest looking cars ever made! I've decided on the '70-73.5 T model coupe. I had a '69, and while that was OK, it was a bit underpowered with the 2.0.
I've read the FAQs, and I know quite a bit about 911s, but I'm not sure which of these years the T model had the mechanical fuel injection. I think the '70-71 2.2 had carbs, and the '72-early '73 2.4s had the MFI. My first choice is a CIS '73.5, followed by a carb model. I really don't want the hassle/expense of MFI.
I would appreciate any leads to original silver cars for sale in the Southwest, particularly in the Los Angeles area where I live. How much should I expect to spend for good condition daily-driver example? Cosmetics are unimportant, want good mechanicals and body. Thanks for any help.
