Default 964 decklid

I picked one up recently, had it repainted and spent the best part of 10 hrs trimming it to fit!!! The original hinges need a 25mm spacer either side where they attach to the chassis, you also need a watchmakers number 3 on the bodywork inside the engine to get the hinge to clear.
The hinges need 12mm spacers between them and the lid, I used multiple strips of alloy.

Wired up in the center heater console using an Audi window switch, smaller and better design for this use than 911 window switch, same pin out.

Very cool! So, you have it manually functional only?

sorry to say but a "pop up" wing is flakey... it was the #1 thing I hated about the 996.

what ever floats your boat, but I dont care for it.

Hi Bart,

Yep, best of both worlds and it makes a big difference with engine cooling. Correct a manual switch, on the 964 the spoiler is activated by an ABS sensor which is conspicuous by its absence on a 3.2. However, I'm looking into using an air speed sensor to activate the lid automatically.

so I just gotta ask .. you have replaced the front and rear bumpers to 964 style .. put a 964 tail on it .. why didn't you just buy a 964 as it has tonnes more power anyway and you could have left the classic 911 lined car for soemone who likes that style .. was it about availability of cars ? . Just wondering . No offense intended as it is just a personal Pet peeve of mine that guys take this wonderful generation of cars and try to make them look like something else ..

Look closely the bumpers are not "964 style" they're IROC units, the back does look a little 964 the front is totally different as you can see. And the decklid is for mainly for cooling, the fan in the front cooler is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard.

Had a 993 and 964, the latter is no quicker than this puppy

That comment nearly covered my laptop with orange juice!! Very funny but also true.

You'll be pleased to know Clive, that since I have been gainfully employed these last few years that I am accumulating quite a few parts (Thank you Steve W from Rennsport systems)
so I might surprise you and get it done before you, or I, die of old age. Fingers crossed

uber 911, I love your new spoiler and the colour of your car

I think it's great. You are building what you want from your car. Personally, I don't like most wings on 911s and the retracting wing is a bit anemic when deplyed, but it does provide some functional benefit.

There has been another very impressive car recently that had a similar idea:
