the real early cars are getting rare it seems. I know a couple of 356 guys that have taken an intrest in the pre-67 cars. They are unique for sure. But it would be very expensive to bring this car up to standard.

The big issue is that the motor is not original, thus the car will never achieve a high value even if restored to mint condition.
I have to agree with the others. I have done a couple of full restoration in my lifetime on cars that were in much better shape than this one and even those restorations taxed my patience and my budget to the limit. This car would be nothing but headaches. Though I am sucker for an air cooled Porsche with a red interior.
It is so far gone that it and/or the parts have little to no value.

Do you have free storage that you do not use or need? If so, you have a bunch or parts to sell or find a car that is missing those parts. If it is going to take up needed garage space or you have to pay for storage, then a few hundred dollars is all I would go----- and at that it may not be a great deal.

Fantastic feedback, seems like this is an easy decision. I'll have him see what he can sell it for, and if he can't sell it, I'll see if he needs help parting or just wants it gone, who knows what can happen. I do have the space for that, or will at least when one of my P-cars is done.
Such a shame!
