Cool Correct Oil level?

I´ve read a couple of times in the board that the oil level in the dipstick should be between both marks, right in the middle, and not higher.

I´ve noticed my ´86 3.2 will take some 800 km to go to the middle from the top, but will stay there for a really long time... and I am becoming concerned.

I´ve also noticed a higher oil pressure on lower oil levels.

Is this right? or am I completely lost?

Thumbs up

Carlos Artal:

I would not worry, some cars burn differently but how long is " a really long time " after the half-way mark.

If you are atleast getting 900 miles, i would not worry.

Good luck

Carlos,

The Porsche oil usage specification is approximately 1.5L per 1000km. Many get more km's than that. As long as your oil usage doesn't go below that, you're fine.
