I think Oliver's comment on Bring a Trailer sums it up nicely. This is the same "collection" of cars written about in Total 911 a year or two ago. Lots of people have tried to buy cars out of this lot and lots of people have failed...

Here is the direct Samba listing:

If some had a ton of cash I think they could get it all.

I am originally from Sheridan and have known this person since he got a driver's license. For the most part I have been able to get along with him pretty well and have bought two 911s from him over the years. He will sell stuff but only if it's to his advantage

He manages the families rental houses, and they have a LOT of rentals in town. Another brother works in the main family business. I always had a harder time getting along with the second brother but at least he was entertaining. .

These hoarders **** me off. They think they have a key to the city of Shangra La. The cars will sit and rust away while they wait for some golden parachute they conjour up in their mind - then die. It does nothing for our hobby.

Yeah, there's some great commentary about collecting vs hoarding on BaT...

Human history is replete with these cases - so often ending in loss for all. My Mom used to say, "it takes all kinds" (she tried to be nice, in an Irish New Yorker kinda way). Kurt Vonnegut would remind us, "...and so it goes."

Jalopnik picked up on this and there's an article on their site. They're telling both sides of the story, including an interview from the owner with direct quotes from him.

mostly E's and S's. There are a few basket cases but most are complete. Some even run.
