Default Missing Option Code Label

I recently bought a 07 997 4 Cab. The option code label is missing. Should I be concerned and can it be replaced. How important is it for the car to have it?

If I were a buyer, i'd think the hood was replaced.
I think you can order a replacement from Porsche.

Does your Warranty and Service Booklet also have an option label? It used to on the older models.

You can call Porsche North America, give them your VIN, and they'll list your options.

Default Found the label

in the maintenance book. The book was stamped with the dealer stamp as well. I also read that Porsche stopped putting labels under the hood around 1996. Hopefully I've uploaded my carmona red 4 cab correctly.

Porsche still had option code labels through 2004 at least. Both of my water-cooled cars had them. I would suspect some front end damage but you never know. You should have a copy of the option code printout in your manuals too.

I'd be very concerned I I were you. I know someone who had the same issue, and his car was devalued by 30%.

nice color....but you might want to be on the 997 forum.....most of the posters here are interested in 911's (specifically air coolers pre 1989).....confusing isn't it?

Default Thanks.

I'm a new Porsche owner and didn't know that and yes it's confusing. Some people don't take that into account. Hey I'm learning.

The latest version of the Carrera (997) has the labels in the maintenance booklet--never under the hood any longer.

The decals were under the hood thru the early 2000s. from the factory, there were two copies of the code-sheet attached under the front hood. One was attached, the other still with it's backing. the second with it's backing was my responcebility to insert in the owners manual.
