IB 911 and 964 rear decklid - Same dimensions?
Hi all,
As backwards as it sounds, I'd like to install a IB 911 grill into my 964's rear decklid (for around town driving) and need to know if the vent aperture is the same size on the 964s as it is on the IB 911s.
The part numbers for the decklids per PET are different:
IB 911: 911 512 010 65 (for Carrera)
964: 964 512 010 01 (for Carrera 2/4, Turbo-look)
But there aren't any measurements or even useful illustrations for me to gauge this by.
This is what I am aiming to acheive with a 964 rear decklid:

Yes, they are the same dimensions, but the hinges are very much not the same. i think you could be okay if you have both sets of hinges, not for sure.
There is a fellow on Pelican that makes conversion hinges to go the other direction...

The aperture in the 964 is taller than the 911 "IB"
If you want the look you need to put the whole engine cover on.

Thanks for the replies all, much appreciated.
LOL, I've always referred to pre-964 911s as Impact Bumper/IB 911s... Same car, different bumpers, rear suspension, and apparently decklid!
