I just purchased a 2008 Porsche 911 with 1400 miles on it. When I start out in first gear, or when I am backing up, I sometimes get a slight rattling or noise from my exhaust. Has anyone any idea as to what this could be caused by? Thank you.

Hi Doc,
You posted in the pre-'89 911 thread. We specialize in air huffers here.

Head over to the 997 forum (that's Porsche's chassis designation for your model) and they'll take care of you.

Some times the exhaust system will experience cracks on some of the binding bands tack welded to the muffler. Your mileage figure however seems a bit too early for that to happen. Suggest you take it in to your local dealer and have them play with it. Is it something that happens when it is cold, or goes away when it warms up?
