Part 3...What do I have?
Hi guys,
First just wanted to thanks you all for all your help so far. I have definitely learned a lot of new and useful info in the past couple weeks. With that said... here comes more questions:
Bill had asked me to post some stickers from my car so he could see for himself that when the car came into California, it was noted as a 1980SC 3.2L. I didn't think that was possible. My original question was wehther this is an entire carrera upgrade or nor.
This is how I can descibe the car in it's current for because I forgot the pics of the o/s of the car @ work.
1980 911SC
3.2L
No Carpet/just floormats
Appears to have a wider stance
Bumper **** in the back
and it doesn't appear to have the same front bumper as other 1980's

Also why is it that when I turn on just my parking lights I have really really dim headlights and some green glowing light on my instu panel. Is that like a day time running lights feature??

Thanks for posting the pictures. Perhaps someone from California can tell when those stickers are issued by the state.
You do not have a Porsche 3.2L engine, as the fuel injection system is CIS, which was used through 1983 on engines no larger than 3.0L. However, it's possible that someone changed out the pistons and cylinders for 3.2L, which is not an uncommon modification. The existing CIS system can work in that configuration.
In terms of your lights, when you put parking lights on, you should have a green light light on in your instrument panel - that's normal. In your front headlights, look to see if you have a secondary small bulb in addition to the main bulb. If that's the source of your dim lamp, that too is OK. If that's the case, you have european headlamps. If your front headlights only have one bulb, then somethings not right on the parking light setting.
