Aahh That Venetian Blue is such a beautiful color. Brett great shot (the first one) and yes the 2001 996 C4S is regarded as the best looking 996 partly because of the return of the red reflector. G-50 cab What in the world is that...a rear reflector. Never seen one like that. WHen it comes to reflectors I know of only two colors. Our red ones making everyone who follow us green.

Actually the IROC Real reflector and the red reflector came out around the same time in 1974. (Technically the IROC series started in 1973) The IROC had a painted panel with P O R S C H E stenciled - the red reflector integrated with the brake lights came out around the same time on the 1974 cars. On the 1974 the panels are a separate piece that's spot welded to the chassis. It wasn't until 1975 that the rear panel (where the red panel attaches) was fully integrated with production.

Mine is version of the IROC panel - just with a little flair. sorry to interrupt your series.

Sorry, but the title here and your mention of #3 seemed obvious.

Very nice shot (Ice) demonstrating the changes made to the reflector on the 993. These include the smoothening of the edges and the small clear reverse lights within the reflector. Here is a shot of my reflector after a nice polish. I wish I had taken a before picture to show the severe swirling that existed due to poor wash technique. Now it is almost a mirror like finish. Remember it is all about preserving our iconic car and it's parts

i think the last car to carry the red reflector across the back until it's reintroduction more recentely was the 996C4S was it not ?

Late to the party but here's my wide body '86 complete with Euro rear fog light.

IIRC, American Turbo Looks didn't carry the "Carrera" script, but I'm sure Porsche would attach it for you....for a price!
