This will probably be the kiss of death. If I add a half a quart over a track weekend that's a lot.

Well, I seem to have ADD today. Dinking around cleaning up the garage, checking torque on the intake, watching the race, drinking a couple of beers, smoking a nice RyJ Habano. But, I did get the valves done too, and oiled her up. The adjust took well, she sounds sweet. I think I'm stalling because I don't want to change the axles....

Well, I did get the axles done too. I'm loving me some new axles-sooooo much cleaner and easier than rebuilding. Best $500 I've spent in a long time.

Took her for a spin. As usual, she felt like she had an additional 75hp after the valve adjust and new oil. I gotta tell you, I can certainly feel the higher compression as I turned her thru while doing the valves. Some pics:

It's made by Krups. If you have a birthday, and Deb is shopping for you, this is the type of stuff you get. It holds the 5L mini Heineken or Newcastle kegs. Real draft beer taste, doesn't take up a lot of room. The dispenser keeps it cold and tells you when it is getting empty. Now, if I could get it to automatically reload....

You can get the Heine mini keg at any good liquor store, but you have to have room in the fridge.

I'm not familiar with RyJ, but my cigars are usually reserved for late night outside. It's just too darn hot to sit outside during the day.

Romeo Y Julieta. My garage is my den, smoking room, etc. Most grocery stores around here stock the kegs.

Except for last weekend, we've been pretty mild. 85 or so today with little humidity, pretty nice. If it hits 90, I crank up the A/C in the garage.

I'll put her up again tomorrow to flush the brakes, grease the bushings and re-tq the CV's.

ohh...of course! They have a nice Reserva, or limited edition, I think a Churchill.

I like to look up at the stars and knock back a few Stella Artois with a nice Avo. Mixing wrenching with beers and cigars is advanced school, so noobs beware.

Well the beers and the cigar were to keep me occupied while watching the ALMS race....took a 3 hour break for that.

When I was chasing a strange noise in my drive train on the 81' I went new as well. It was worth it even though that wasn't the noise.

Didn't get to see the ALMS but last night as I went to bed I turned on the TV to find a rerun of the ALMS "Eco-Challenge". The Flying Lizard was in the lead followed by some stupid hybrid powered Corvette. The vette kept bumping into the rear of the Lizard so in the last turn when he did it again The Flying Lizard put the vette into the inside wall breaking the vette into a thousand pieces. It was glorious. Lizard

That actually sounds like the very end of the Laguna Seca race in 2009.
