Smile Refinish Fuchs Wheels

Although the wheel I had refinished was a 993 Cup II wheel, you have to know what fantastic work Harvey Weidman of Weidman's Wheels does. Harvey specializes in refinishing wheels to factory specs, his refinished wheels are seen on 100 point concours cars. Here is a quote from a guy I sold a wheel to that I had refinished by Harvey to complete the set,

"Harvey's workmanship is extraordinary (even the back is amazing). Don't have enough light to tell in the garage but the color looks right. The finish might be too perfect but I'm not sure......I have been shipped fragile acoustic guitars worth multiples of the wheels that were not nearly as carefully packaged for shipping. Harvey is a true pro. On pg. 42 of this new issue of Excellence guess who Bruce Anderson mentions as the expert on refinishing Fuchs wheels? (Harvey Weidman) He will get all my referrals after seeing just one wheel."

I had sold a guy four (4) wheels, one of which was damaged in shipment...I purchased a replacement wheel from a fellow Rennlister, and sent off to Harvey Weidman to have it matched to the damaged wheel. I am clearly glad I did, because the results were incredible.

I have done business with the other wheel refinishing guy we read about on the Forum...let's just say that any wheel refinishing that I need in the future will be going to Harvey Weidman (Weidman's Wheels, Oroville, CA). What a pro!

Harvey is booked to the gills so be prepared to wait a wee bit. You can pay an expedite fee and move up the line. What was happening, the concours guys would send in a set of Fuchs wheels and want them back yesterday. Turns out their car's were still on the tub rotisserie...they didn't need their wheels for months. This really screwed up the work flow at Weidman's and pushed back turn around time. Therefore, if you absolutely need it quickly, you will have an expedite fee, can't recall the amount, but no worries, its worth it.

Weidmans sounds like the new Wheel Enhancement. Lots of rave reviews.

He's long been known as a quality guy. The "other guy" you mention is too. Maybe you had a bad experience, but I'd guess someone got ticked at Harvey too along the line.

Robert Wood (in LA) also was that kind of shop. I think he's been retired for some time.

I never thought of wheels as such a competitive field, but evidently it is.

Seems like a call to the source would give you exact answers to both questions.

Default These guys...

...believe it or not, do an incredible job on standard Porsche wheels, don't know about FUCHs though, Wheels America, 714.670.0150, Buena Park, CA, $129 a wheels, finished inside and out, they pay return shipping. Wheels America has multiple offices...my friends and I use the Buena park office. They have a 1 day turn around policy. 100% satisfied with the job on my 993 wheels, cast aluminum, not forged as are the FUCHs wheels. Call them and ask them...don't know if the paint the centers or powder coat them.

Weidman, Harvey does great work but he us usually very backed up.
