Default Random Photo Ops around Raleigh

I work in an area with several buildings and multiple parking lots. Several times a day, I take walks around the various lots to get some exercise. Normally, the only two Porsches I see are mine and a black 2003 Boxster owned by a lady in another building. Once or twice a month, another one will show up for a visit.

Yesterday, I found three, all parked in the same section of the same lot. One of them I recognized as a 1980 Euro SC that has been the daily driver of the owner since 1981. I believe it has around 400k miles on the clock. I heard a higher number thrown out in conversation by someone else but I seem to remember the owner telling me upper 300k about two years ago. Whatever, it's one of my favorite Porsches to see around the RTP area, topped only by mine and a 1997 Turbo S in Viola Metallic that makes something move.

Before leaving for the day, I decided to drive over to see if it was still there. It was, so I took a couple more shots with mine along side it.

Today, at our regular coffee gathering, I had a chance to meet Paul (Carrera3.2LG50) and see his gorgeous Venetian Blue 1987 coupe. He, John (GoThingNC) and I headed to Brier Creek for the monthly car gathering. Here is John's Rosewood SC Targa following Paul:

Here are a few shots from B/C, starting with Paul's beauty:

The C1 section:

Lotus Elan, for sale - this car is so small I might have walked off with it in my back pocket:

A Jag and Austin Healey:

Studebaker:

Some Porsches:

A bimmer:

Some Italians:

A Countach that has seen some road time:

It was nice to meet Paul and catch up with John while enjoy some sweet cars. If either wish to add any shots from today to this thread, feel free to do so.

Don't forget that 944 in the background of your first pic!

Edgy, you had to remind him.

That euro SC is really cool. Looks like a Monty muffler: those cars will move around nicely with the euro tuning and an exhaust.

Thanks for sharing. I love these random picture threads.

Thanks. I probably should have been more specific in my description where I did mention seeing 3 Porsches in one section and got all 3 in one shot but didn't explicitly point out the Boxster or 944. The owner of the SC has a client in one of the buildings so I see his car out there 3-4 times a year - which makes my day each time. I suppose that's why it got all the attention.

Michael,
I was wondering why you pulled out into the other lane earlier. Now I know: to take some pictures! Most excellent.

Nice meeting you and John today as well as the others at the Wake Zone.
Here's a pic of the group heading out.

It looked like a great turnout! Sorry we missed it. The SC is a story in itself. We don't get to see pcars with that kind of mileage in this area often. I believe I've seen one other with well over 200K about a year ago. I suspect it might be more common in other parts of the country. Pretty awesome in my book!

I agree, Gary. That's what makes that SC a favorite of mine.

John, I did see the baby seat but didn't think fast enough to snap a picture.

Great pics! I love looking at old Vettes...

Anyway, here are some shots I took in May at a Saturday morning C & C in Great Falls, Virginia. It's become the place to be for Euro gearheads, with some muscle mixed in. It's fast outgrowing the parking lot.

My humble Turbo-Look is in there, next to a nice 968. Enjoy.

Yep... that's what we were looking for when we came upon the 964. We're still looking for a SC targa.

Your turbo is a sweet car, Gary. We both have a long way to go to catch up to Mike's SC. Mine's closing in on 70k, but I'm working on it.

Nice shots, Ray. If you have any good ones of your cab, feel free to post them up.

Paul,

I think I recognize that Targa in your sideview mirror
