I apologize for continuing this off-topic discussion but I have never noticed anything about Rush here aside from someone's avatar.

Mr. Carver,

A 1983 SC sparked my interest with Porsche. So much so that when my father sold it I cried.

That's a good thing I suppose. There is a healthy thread in OT that I default to for discussion of this sort. However, RUSH has creeped in to other threads, as well as other music. We are a tight community, our discussions twist and turn nicely without offending. But there is a line that shouldn't be crossed unless the OP participates. I'm the worst for redirecting threads, so...I'm trying to stay on topic as long as the thread generally flows in a particular direction.
I certainly welcome any and all input from my valued listers in this forum...I like most of these people and it helps to get tp know them when we drift into discussions effecting other areas of our lives.

I've owned several BMWs, and enjoyed them for the most part. I was a BMWCCA member for a decade and, all the while was deeply footed in the Porsche community. I can share your feelings as to the community. It's not there. The Porsche (specifically 911) community is a remarkable group and this forum is a good example. If automotive enthusiasm means the same to you that it does me, then the peripheral, like-minded people that share in it are a neccesity.
Most of us her can talk about our first 911 experiance with great emotion.
Again, welcome.

Is Syd one of the furry creatures or the Pict?
Except that a 16 year old chick came in less than 30 seconds slower in the same class in a Mini Cooper.

Huh? According to my computer screen, it would seem that the mini was almost 2 1/2 MINUTES slower. That is 20% more time, which is pretty substantial. What do I know, it's been years since I've taken a math class?
