1973 Steering Column Bushing, Augh!
I need some advice for my 1973 911. I have just had all my suspension bushings replaced and alignment done. However, I still have a loose steering wheel diagnosed as the steering column bushing is bad. I am aware that there is a replaceable part for this on post 74 cars which can be installed without removing the entire column, however, the part does not fit a pre 73 column. It looks like the whole column has to come out. Is anyone aware of a solution to this problem without removing the entire column???? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have a spring and bushing attached to the steering wheel? I had a similar problem and then I noticed that I had forgotten to transfer those parts to my new steering wheel. Go to the Pelican 911 board and do a search for "steering wheel" and my user name neilk. There are links to pictures that show the parts in question.

Thanks for the suggestions. I DID put a new Nardi Classico wheel on the car with their hub, however, the wheel did move around before IO put the new one on. I'll check out thse parts, thanks again.
