Porsche Certified Mechanic school
How does one become a Porsche certifed mechanic in New England? I'm looking for a career change out of high tech and want to be a Porsche certifed mechanic, but cannot find information anywhere. Thanks for any help you can give me.

A technical school in Phoenix, Houston and Chicago called UTI has a graduate program for Porsche Technicians called PTAP. After graduating from UTI you have to interview with the head of training for Porsche cars North America. If he likes you, you and 11 other graduates are in for 22weeks training in Atlanta at Porsche's North American headquarters. At the end of the program you have interviews with Porsche dealerships from around the united states. So far they have had 9 classes, and have placed 100 percent of the people that have gone to the school, so basically if you get into the porsche school you are going to get a job.
Many Service Managers, if not all, should know about this school so if you have a certain dealership in mind talk to them, sometimes they do sponsor people for the class, but you still would have to go to UTI.
As far as germany goes, they have a apprentice program that I believe is 5 years, and you need to be sponsored by a shop to get in. Canada is the same story.
hope this helps out some. Its amazing what one can find on the internet.
