radio static when braking??

Post radio static when braking??

strange but seems to be true. Any suggestions?

Any details to help us help you? Year/model 911, type of radio, anything special we should know about?

What type of brakes, and have you swapped in fiberglass panels or removed dust shields? Do brakes generate static electricity?

There's a thread right now on the Pelican site which deals with why the rear decklid comes with such a robust grounding strap -- it has to do with shielding for radio interference.

I hope it doesn't irritate anyone to cross-post links:

i restore a lot of old cars and i remember seeing a flat spiral spring under the dustcap of several that grounded the drum to the spindle, so the problem is not new.

Yes. It's an '80 SC Targa with original Blaupunkt stereo cassette. Car is basically stock.
