Post White Guage Faces???

I have been considering white guage faces for a while now. I have found a few tech articles on the various sites about installing them yourself, and with some patience it doesn't sound like too tough of a job. I have found a web site that says they are the manufacturer of them. Said they make them for the P-car catalogs and such. With a price of $90.00 I am saving a $50.00 over the catalog prices. Here's my question(s).Am I making a mistake installing them myself? and, Has anyone had any experience with this company?

My many thanks to all who respond.Drivers Edge

Hi Tiger Trash,

Two tricky parts:

1) Getting the bezel off without scratching the glass/bezel.

2) Getting the speedo needle off. My speedo needle broke off at the pin when I tried (carefully!) removing it.

Fortunately, I was installing the colored gauge faces because my speedo face had peeled. After I broke the needle, I returned the colored faces (ate the restocking charge), and bought a used speedo. The used speedo and restocking fee cost me less than the colored faces would have. I'm pretty sure Driver's Edge is where I bought the colored gauge faces from.

I understand that North Hollywood Speedo (for example) has special tools for removing the bezel, as well as all the needles.

Have you read Tom Sharpes' recent posts on his gauge face installation?

Here is a link to my tech article on doing the gauge faces yourself.

If you are mechanically inclined and careful you can do this without any problem. The speedo needle is the hardest to get off.

I just saw these offered on eBay for $30-50 - you might want to take a look there. They look like the same picture as your link.

Hope this helps !

Tom, Thanks for all the insightful help in your tech article. Thats the only reason I'm considering putting these on myself. Its nice to have people such as yourself out there who document some of the upgrade processes for other do-it yourselfers. Thanks again, I'll follow up with some pics.
