Default Help... Alternator shims

Hey Guy's, I am in the middle of my VR replacement and I removed the alternator bolt to find 4 shims, 2 on the outside and 2 on the inside. I have been tod numerous times i need 6 total, if so anybody recommend somewhere i can get a couple? is that a common part?

Thanks,

Rod,

the reason you need 6 is on some of the alternators you can bottom the nut against the threads on the alternator shaft before the pulley is tight. the shims on the outside push the nut further out down the shaft. Look at yours carfeully it may not make a difference. don't know where you would get yours in Calgary but i get mine when i order other stuff at pelican or at autohausaz.com

Thanks, It seemed to fit ok as it was but I am going to take a run down to the local Porsche dealer and see if they may have some.
