I didn't know they did THAT much assembly on the cars at the track. Guess it makes sense since they've been there for so long by the time race day arrives.

They ran the final qualifying session from 10:00pm on Thursday night until midnight. Friday, every garage we saw did a TOTAL teardown of the cars, including new powerplants going in. The 4L flat six on the floor of the Lizards garage had been used for three days of testing and qualifying!

I actually cracked up at the messy workbench in the Corvette garage. That was no reflection of their team's organization, but when you've got two cars being torn down, stuff gets used. I know mine got pretty filled up during the engine build.

Ice, the Michelin compound had two simulators running Forza 3, which I have too. Theirs were a little more elaborate with the race seats and the 60" HD displays and surround sound! But, you're right, I thought that they did a good recreation. The only thing that stood out was the elevation change going thru the Dunlop curves-hard to get that on a computer, I suppose.

I never really noticed it in the game ( dunlop elevation) .. but there is also a dip on the first straight thet freaks me out in the game becasue it can unsettle the car before the first major braking zone at the end .. would have loved to have wathched the cars screaming down there ..

Well, this is another one of my crappy vids. About as close as I can get. It is taken at the end of the front straight where they start to enter into the Dunlop curve sequence. I really should stop wasting memory on videos in these circumstances-I get caught up in the action with one side of my brain, and try to capture with the other portion and it always seems to look like "what the heck was I thinking".

I should look into this Forza 3. I hate cable tv, and have a large plasma tv that never gets used.

You'll love Forza 3/xbox. You can even drive a Lizard GT3RSR. I'm trying to figure out how I change my financial picture and field a race car! Maybe I should've started on that 30 years ago...

Ed, thank you for sharing those pics/videos. So on a scale of 1 to 10 can you rate your Le Mans experience and if the trip met or exceeded your expectations.
