Lower Rod Bearing
My mechanic says that because of the noise comming from my motor he suspects a lower rod bearing. Has anyone had this problem and or have suggestions? He is always 99.9% right so that leaves out most any other problems. While he suggest a complete rebuild he has not cracked open a Porsche in a while. Any tips, advise, pics would be greatly appreciated.
PS the engine has already been bored to a 3.2 and rebuilt (no idea how long or milage) runs like a champ and sounds like a turbo diesel. FYI

If it's the rod bearing, you of course will need new rod bearings, and inspection of the crankshaft for any damage and reconditoning of the connecting rods. It's a major problem, it won't be cheap if done properly. Sure, you could replace the bad bearing and re-assemble the engine and sell it to some unsuspecting person.....but...you wouldn't sleep much after that. JMHO
