Default Trailer Recommendation?

Hi there,

A little off-topic, but I am in the market for an enclosed trailer to transport my track car. I am looking for advice for different types of trailers. I have the capacity to tow 7700 lbs. The car only weighs around 2400lbs.

What trailers are people using and what have they been happy with?

Thanks
Nick Shanny

While expensive, my suggestion would be the Trailex "low boy" enclosed trailer. I have used the Trailex open trailer for several years for my Sc track car and really like it. Well built and being all alum they are light. Another feature of the Trailex is that they come with 11 foot ramps so not an issue with front spoilers.

Lots of users of trailers in the Racing and DE section of this forum.

I've got an open aluminum trailer, so I can't help on the closed aspect.

I have owned a 24' Pace Shadow for over 10 years. It now has ~60K miles on it with no problems. I am on my third set of tires as they seem to dry rot before wearing out the threads.

I suggest the 5000 Lb. axles (6 lug) over the 3500 Lb. axles (5-lug). I also have grease fittings on the hubs and re-grease the hubs every spring. I also carry a new hub pre-greased with bearings in case a bearing burns out (it never has, but that is because I have the extra parts ).

Good luck
