Default 911s not running

I am much more familiar with the water cooled series to I am looking for some advice from you guys over here. What would the value of a 1977 911S be in average condition, not running they believe it is the timing chain. They say it is the Turbo but would'nt a Turbo have the flaired fenders(930)?. Some basic knowledge to get me started would be much appreciated.

Found out it is not a Turbo. The guy selling it did not know much about them. Mute point anyway because it sounds like it is sold. Selling price was $5000 fyi.

5000 for a non runnong 77 is no screaming deal believe me. it COULD take many times that amount to resurect that car.

"1977 911S be in average condition, not running"

I suppose at this point in history, the avg US '77 911 does not run, if it hasn't yet been rendered.
On the other hand, a truly excellent example would be worth much more than $5K.

Most relevant to a buyer is to have a clear plan - trumps buying a "deal" every time. I'd start by assuming the car for free + $2k gift may not be enough to achieve happiness.
