Default A rattle that is driving me crazy

I have rattle in my '85 coupe that is driving me crazy. It is somewhere on the right side near the glove box or in the door I think. I have removed the glove box and searched around the bulkhead from the trunk side and can't find anything loose. When I shut the passenger door there is no rattle either. I peaked inside the door panel also and could find nothing. I even took the sunroof out and still when I hit bumps in the road with the right tire I get a tinny sounding rattle.

Any ideas? Turn the radio up louder? Help!

check the sheetmetal screws that hold the sunroof frame down. If you can get the rear zipper on the headliner to open, check the screws and nuts inside the emergency mechanism. Try partially opening the windows to see if it's the window regulator.

Does it seem to be in the cabin, or trunk/suspension area? When the car is parked try to bounce the front right to reproduce.

This might be a tough one , you might actually have to let someone drive your car down a washboard type road while you sit in the paseneger seat and find the rattle.

Sometimes the upholstery trim screws come loose and create a rattle. Tinny sounding could be a brake hose retaining clip or anything.

Squeaky could be either the torsion bar rubbing against the a-arm, or the trunk light actuator needing to be greased.

Try using a portable massager if you have one, and press it against the car with a towel.

There's a support strap that goes under the glove box that may have come loose. Tighten the fastener to see if that helps.

The door strap that's stops the door from opening too far may have the rubber deteriorated and missing which allows the metal strap to hang out in the door and when you hit a bump, it hits the stationary part of the strap mount. Mine did that and when I replaced the strap, it was gone. I did a lot of looking such as what has been suggested, but that was my fix.

it sounds like we have the same issue. so I wish you all the luck in finding yours. recently I was wrapping all the loose wiring items behind the glove box in foam trying to eliminate.

I'll be checking my glove box strap and the door later today and post if it resolves.
