The alternator on my 75 Carrera went bad, got a rebuilt Bosch unit with internal regulator, unit does not fit in my fan housing the 6 bolts are to short to hold on ducting and fan is not centered in fan housing. Stock fan housing part number is 901 106 101 5R. When I "sourced'' fan housing part number 930-106-102 4R all seems good. Now I need to replace "sourced" fan housing before friend finds it missing. What years and part numbers can I replace it with? Anyone?
Thanks in advance

i think the new fan housing shroud started on cars after about 82 . But your old one could have been modified to fit. I think I may still have the tech buletin on it .. I will have a look .. now what did i do with those bunny slippers ...

If the bolts are too short - chances are that you have the "long alternator" there are two styles that they apparently switched back and forward with.
And it's possible that someone modified yours to fit a earlier alternator.
Best bet would probably be to take your existing alternator to Hutchinson near the causeway and have them rebuild it. I should have done that with mine instead of playing shipping games with mine.
