HELP!!! Knocking noise in 915 trans
Help!!!
I just put my rebuilt motor back in the car got everything connected and started the engine. I now have a loud almost metalic knock type tap in the transmission. This can't be good!!!The sound seems to be coming from the front end of the trans where the shift shaft goes into the tunnel. It's there when the engine is running and the trans is in neutral with the clutch out. It increases with engine speed. With the clutch in it goes away. This is an '84 3.2 with a 915 trans. Trans was completely rebuilt last Feb and got all new gears, syncros , the works. Any ideas as what the hell this is?
