Default Why is the 3.0L SC engine top red?

Besides the Webers, the dirt, oil, and the tape on the ducting, my recently acquired '79 SC has a red engine top case. I'm pretty sure it isn't a Testarossa, so is red 'normal' for an SC?

It is red because it is made in a color consisting predominantly of the wavelength range of approximately 630–700 nm.

And, yes, they came red from the factory.

Before the SC's I think the engine cowling was different for the 3 model types.
911T Black. 911S Green. 911 Carrera Red. In 78 the all went to Super Carrera, hence Red.

I could be wrong, I often am!!
