Default re-installing front turn signals

when installing the oil cooler fan and the front brake duct extensions, I pulled the front bumper and valance.

when I reinstall the turn signal wires/housing it appears I keep shorting something. these are a PITA to put back in.

with the bulb housing hanging loose, turn signals and parking lights work. when I try to squeeze the wires back into the bumper and screw then down I must be shorting something.

any hints/tips on doing this. it is straight forward but NO space in there to work.

dont think so.

in the process of removing the bulb housing and pulling the wiring so I could remove the bumper, having an issue of reinstalling the front bulb housings. worked fine before.

Rusnak,

sorry my reply sounded like I disregarded your note.

ironically I had seen that posting before this situation. I knew it was something shorting in the housing and knew which one.

my dilema was how to reinstall these front turn signals without grounding out a connection. blew 3 fuses in the process.

got em both working. basically I put shrink wrap on all exposed connectors. the reflector is the gound for the light so any of them touching shorts out that fuse. I guess somehow the factory can get these wires connected and the reflector put in without grounding one of them. here is the before showing the exposed connectors and after with the shrinkwrap protecting them.

and since you have to remove them by pulling all the wiring out the backside of the plastic case to remove the bumper, the design is not friendly to this procedure. just replacing the bulb is simple.

now to get the front part of the cage bolted back in.

I have mine apart, unfortunately I'm Flagstaff and don't get home until tomorrow night. I'll take a picture tomorrow if you haven't figured it out by then.

Sounds like he's done.

Gotta' isolate the wires (as you did) or disconnect the battery for electrical work,

Best,

Doyle
