Post 911 question

What body mods are available to make the 79' 911 look like the 1994 911 or w/e. I saw one on collector car trader. I was wondering if anyone has any info on this.

GT Racing makes a kit to update an earlier 911 to both a 964 or 993 style. I believe they do standard and wide-body (turbo) bodies. I've only seen the finished product in magazines and at GT Racing's web site, but they look pretty good if you are'nt pre-disposed to using plastic body panels on your car.

I might recommend if you want to maintain ANY real value to such a car to not upgrade to a "newer model look", but rather stick with an '80s widebody/turbo look. If you try to make your SC look like a 964, even a widebody, you'll be spending a lot of money for your own good. You'll have a tough time selling it later.

But, if you're keeping the car for a long time and that's the look YOU want, then go for it!

For quality metal, I can recommend Restoration Design. (They are a Rennlist ad supporter, I believe!). I've ordered replacement metal and flares for my RS project and I'm very happy with their knowledge and service. www.restoration-design.com
