thanks very much !
Thanks guys I have ordered the DME and also a Cylinder head temp sensor....on the way now - lets see if that does the trick the car turns over but takes a good 8-10 secs to fire up.
Now, the idle - coast stalling appears to be connected to or triggered by some electrical short-circuit you see my clock and radio died AGAIN (the 5th time in a year) and after happened the stalling seemed to miraculously stop happening !
When I tried to replace the fuse I got a belting HOT 'shock' trying to replace it (engine was running) and at that instant the engine stalled ....so anyway I removed the fuse and get this - the idle stall problem has gone (not the starter problem which is an isolated issue maybe DME )....any thoughts ?

I'm sorry for being slow to respond. I keep forgetting to grab my dang manual every time I go to the shop.
From memory, on 911SC (Not 3.2) the fuse that controls the interior light might be shared by either the fuel pump or O2 sensor (can't recall), and I think the interior light might be on the same circuit as the clock (sorry, can't recall that either). But look for an exposed wire on that circuit. Once place would be the front trunk. If the wire that goes to the trunk light switch is chafed or broken, that might cause a short to ground and blown fuse.
You need to examine the fuse box cover to see what accessories are on the same circuit, and then look for shorts on that circuit. A bad dme relay can be switched for a known good one to start diagnosing your hard starting problem.
You should not try to change fuses with the engine running.

Great. You may have other problems (hope not) and rusnak is so right. Certain circuits share multiple consumers. Not knowing the fuses off the top of my head for your 3.2, but I have found that the cigar lighter will fry fuses when people have silly gadgets plugged into them. Some power adapters have varying sized plugs and if they are loose fitting or cocked in the socket, well...they snap the fuse. I once found a penny in the lighter socket of a car(not 911) that had made it's way from the ashtray.
You should be fine with the DME relay on the no start/stall issue.
