Post Suggestions for cleaning helmet liner?

Just bought a used Bell SA 95 helmet (Sport II EC), and the liner needs cleaning (the usual sweat, grime & grease). Any suggestions as to how best "re-freshen" ? Thank you in advance!

Whenever I feel my helmet needs some freshening up, I use Febreze. You get it at any grocery store. Works wonders as far as odor removal. Sometimes I will use a spray bottle filled with water and just get it a little wet. Then I use paper towels to soak the water. After I use Febreze. I wonder what other people do. Or don't do.

Hello John,

I would not use anyone's helmet without a good clean, do however not use neither a washing machine, nor a tumble drier!

I suggest a large bucket, lukewarm water with a very light dilution of liquid washing powder (you can choose a nice scent) and gentle washing by hand - do not use any brush or similar. Wash as required, and rinse in lots of lukewarm water. Dry in a well-ventilated area, no direct exposure to sunlight or heat. Must however dry quickly to avoid smells.

Apply to head and enjoy.

Best regards, Tom.

NB! See mom, I did learn something!
