Default What do you think of your cordless LED work light?

What brand & model do you have?

Would your recommend it?

The $40 Griot's Garage "Cordless LED Light" model 13091 seems like it might be a good one to have. Does anybody else have it?

I've got a Black and Decker, it is a good piece. Griots has good stuff, but they surce it from somewhere and usually charge a premium. My BD was way less than $40, probably 25 or so at Lowes or HD.

I noticed that the new LEDs have much better color rendition. I have a Streamlight LED flashlight that is fantastic.

I like the Griot's one but am on the 3rd one - high failure rate.

have not found anyone else that has that one & others look even more cheesey

nice to not burn your hands tho

Griots has some of the nicest toys out there. I wonder if they'd replace the burnt out one(s) for you for free? LEDs are not supposed to burn out.

I'm not sure I'd think too highly of the Griots bit for $40, if I went thru three of them due to failure.

My BD, that cost no more than $25, has been kicking for a couple of years of abuse.

I am going to have to try the black and decker. I used other ones before and the light they give off is fine but if they are cordless I have found that the rechargeable batteries they use are cheap and dont last long. I use the lights everyday in my shop and I usually have probllems with the ones I have tried within a month or 2. I use them about 5 hrs a day and for that kind of use the rechargable ones always go bad. I have a snap on rechargeable flash light that I can take the rechargeable battery out and charge it in a pack. It also uses the same battery as the mini drill they make and that one is great. It also cost 100.00. The problem for me is that it is designed like a flash lite and I like the ones that are designed like the B&D.

it is tiresome tho free to replace these - my comment was that their appearance is better than the BD

when I got the 1st one BD had nothing on the market

Did Griot's pay for the replacement shipping (return and resend)?

I got one at Lowe's. I think around $10.00. I've only been using it a couple of months but it is so much better than the old corded light bulb work light.
