Hi there,
I've posted a question to the 944 group about a possible upgrade to a turbo or S2 944.
In my question was also about a possible upgrade to a 911, to which I thought this group would be the better judge.
I'll start by saying I have no problem staying with my car at the moment and enjoy the drive a lot. I also have this feeling that upgrading to a 911 might make my current driving pleasure even better.
So I'd to hear the opinions of 911 drivers who started off with a 944 on how mucher better (or worse) the 911 is for them. If you went to a 911 after 1990 don't worry, because I wouldn't spend that sort of money just yet.
I'm just trying to asses whether the large jump in money between the cars is actually worth it to people who have made the change.
Thanks,
Sam.

Dear Sam,
I own a 911 (964 C4) and a 944. Chalk and cheese. I gave my daughter the 944. If you afford an upgrade go for a 911. What model is going to depend on what you want and what you can afford. In Australia the prices are very high for what you get. This will dampen things a little.
Ciao,
Adrian

I am actually thinking of doing the opposite thing, sort of. I have an 81 SC and a Honda civc for everyday driving. I have been thinking of getting a nice 944 for the everyday car and keep the 911 for the every other day car, if that makes sense. Hopefully there is some good info to come in this thread.
