Post Tirerack closeouts pros and cons

I have a set of AVS intermediates on my 88 3.2 and have been very satisfied with them. probably have 2/3 tread remaining. Saw the threads about the closeout special thru tirerack and thought that $58 for 205's and $60 for 225's was fair and shipping to maui was only $17 per tire. They got here in three days! The only note to others considering purchasing was that my "new tires" have a manufacter date of 3699 stamped on the sidewall, or they were made in the 36th week of 1999. So the tires are 3 years old already, these tires will see no mercy from me. Maui Mark

Clean the rats' nests and cobwebs out before mounting. Fortunately, tires have a fairly
long shelf life. In fact, if you leave them
on the shelf, they'll last a life time. My S-02s
have been on my car for 5 years.
