How many people correct others when they mispronounce Porsche?

Hey there everyone,
Some people would call me a snob or I guess even a freak, because I always correct others when they mispronounce Porsche. It has always been something that I just never understood about American culture.
I am a proud American, so please do not get me wrong here. I have served my country in the armed services, and I love everything that we have achieved over the course of several generations. With that said I still can not understand why people just can not seem to get the name right?
Am I alone in this or are there other out there that feel like I do on this?
Weird question I understand but I thought that people in this room would give me the most honest answer to this question, as it is the people that actually own 911's, as I do, (although that is not the prerequisite here) that will probably get this the most. (Arrogance is not intended here, at all) I am simply reminded of the commercial that quite simply says:
"It's a funny thing about a Porsche...There is the moment that you know that you want one.....There is the moment you first own one...and for the truly afflicted there is the decades or two that passes in between...From the first it's first days on the road over 40 year ago, the 911 has ignited the kind of passion in drivers that only a Porsche can...The Porsche 911---It is quite simply the purest expression of who we are.........Porsche."
I realize that I may seem a bit over the top on this, but am I really the only one????
Just curious, and I thought you all might enjoy this...
Warmest Regards,
Erik Johnson

I was smitten by what could have only been a 911 with a DP935 type full on fiberglass body kit. Guards red, slant nose, targa, that was way over the top. I was in love. I stewed over it for almost twenty years.....
......and ya, correct folks all the time.

What language are you speaking?
german - pronounce the "e"
english - "e" is silent
Kind of like Paris.
"s" is silent if you're speaking french, but its pronounced if you're speaking english.
However, since Porsche is a family name, rules might be different.
That being said, I've never corrected anyone in this context.
(lots of threads about how to pronounce)
* Great commercial!

I pulled into a gas station the other week in my 924S and the gal behind the counter said: "you just don't see Datsuns anymore". I didn't correct her. I go back and forth on the pronunciation, It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm driving down the road and see a P-car, I say "look - a Porsh". If sombody asks what kind of car is that? I reply, It's a Porsch-a" (not a RX7). I'm with Iceman, I feel like a ***** if I correct somebody.

Great timing on this question....
I went on a first date last Tuesday and the girl asked me; "Why would you NEED more then one Porsch?". My answer was a very sarcastic, "it's pronounced Por-sche" which gave her a sense that there shouldn't be any question as to "why" and she jumped to a different topic. It was a good deflection on my part and she dropped all curiousity when I picked her up on Saturday in the Boxster S (she did ask if it had a sunroof however).
I've never corrected anyone else in my life unless I was trying to be arrogant for the fun of it with close friends.
